Tyson Fury the former heavyweight champion of the world a short time ago announced his retirement from professional boxing.
That has happened before but this time it looks genuine and more sincere.
Speaking on social media on X a short time ago Fury said:
“Hi everybody I’m going to make this short and sweet, I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing. Its been a blast. I’ve loved every minute of it.”
Fury was not at the Ring Awards at the weekend just gone in London which was unusual.
Fury lost two extremely close points fights to Usyk, some of which some thought Fury won.
That said, Fury had one of the great careers not only of any boxer in history but any professional sportsman.
No one ever lost that amount of weight, came back from that amount of alcohol or substances, in boxing history, to not only compete at the highest level but become champion of the world again.
Never been done in sports history nor ever will again — that alone makes Fury a future a Hall of Famer.
He came back from things most simply cannot. It is that simple.
He also dethroned an all-time great in Wladimir Klitschko when Klitschko was running through everyone in Germany — Fury went to Germany to beat him too.
Fury, the ultimate heart out of any heavyweight maybe other than Rocky Marciano or Muhammad Ali.
Good luck in whatever is next which will be successful in whatever he does.
