Saudi Arabia adviser and organizer Turki Alalshikh is a major player not just in boxing but in worldwide sport.
He was named boxing’s Man of the Year in 2024 and rightly so.
Saudi Arabia are putting on great fights and Alalshikh speaking with former world champion Carl Froch on his podcast per Boxing Kingdom on X did a new record of views on the now international superstar podcast of Froch’s — doing over 414,000 views earlier and will surpass 500,000 views shortly. Speaking to Froch he said:
“We are improving day by day. The last card you can see it is improving because our people also we want to catch the youngest generation and make them love the sport and they start to love it, and they start to know the fighters and we build from there.”
63 per cent of Saudis are under 30 which is a new young demographic for the audience.
If they can also get boxing going in Egypt by putting on fights in Egypt there is over one hundred million Egyptians there too.
Between that and putting on big fights in India and China, you can reach another two billion people there in the East, too.
