Boxing star Teofimo Lopez knows his worth and a small amount of money offered to him recently he has revealed he turned down.
Certainly, the money for the risk reward against a good fighter, is still not known to those outside of boxing, Matias, represented little to Lopez.
Devin Haney trolled Lopez on X asking why ‘Tehoe’ didn’t fight Matias to which Lopez replied:
“Because TR wanted to host it on the West Coast when it should be in NYC, forced it to be on PPV, and, lastly, offered 2.8M’s when I AM the last star power they have left. All roads are leaning toward Keyshawn as their next pupil. @Realdevinhaney”
TR referring to Top Rank, the promoter.
It is understood both Top Rank’s ESPN deal expires later this year and are struggling with attracting new fighters after so many star names have left boxing legend Hall of Famer Bob Arum’s company in recent years.
Not least Shakur Stevenson most recently.
Some claim that PBC (Premier Boxing Champions) brand new Amazon Prime deal also expires in 2025 but there is no hard evidence of this so far.
