Living legend Claressa Shields has come back firing against another women’s boxing legend with some unexpected remarks.
The fact is Claressa Shields has already gone further than any woman ever in boxing history as already, by far, the greatest female boxer (and fighter) that ever lived — and she’s only 29-years-old.
Muhammad Ali’s daughter, another female boxing legend, Laila Ali, reportedly had less than nice things to say about Shields recently.
Shields has hit back on X saying:
“Laila Ali is pressed…. How she gonna say I’m not gonna make it very far by burning bridges when I’ve made it farther than she has already. The facts is she’s been retired from boxing 18 years. I have great relationships with great people & they are all Genuine. This the same lady told me don’t turn pro. Looks like turning pro worked & working out great for me! There are fighters from her era like ANNE WOLFE, Lucia Rijker who actually want to see the younger fighters win, those are the champions I respect. Laila is just another example of a bitter old person #GWOAT #FEB2ND”
Quite clear from the Shields side.
Shields returns shortly on February 2nd against Danielle Perkins.
