US boxing promoter Top Rank headed by legendary Hall of Famer Bob Arum has been struggling a lot as of late.
Reports in many places suggest their ESPN deal is up later in 2025 and who ESPN decide to go with in boxing is up for debate, particularly with Dana White coming into boxing this year who already has a deal with ESPN for the UFC so likely the UFC and White will easily scoop up the expired Top Rank deal onto their new boxing league being discussed, but time will tell.
The main star fighter Top Rank have, well two of them, is Keyshawn Davis and Teofimo Lopez.
Speaking to Fight Hype Keyshawn Davis said of Top Rank and his stablemate:
“Right now, I do feel like the face of Top Rank. Everyone’s watching to see what I’ll do next. It’s interesting that Teofimo (Lopez) is giving me credit because he’s had a lot to say about our division and about me in particular, and most of it hasn’t been positive. So, I guess I’ve made him a believer. But here’s my question for Teo: If you think I’m the next big thing for Top Rank, why wouldn’t you want to fight me? I understand he’s looking at Devin Haney and other guys, but if he believes what he’s saying, then he should step in the ring with me. That fight would sell, no doubt about it.”
Indeed, Lopez vs Davis would be a great fight.
That said, very soon Davis already has his first world title shot which is a tough fight and a great thing to see they have so much faith in him to put him in for the world title soon.
