‘The Monster’ Inoue returns to world title action this Friday in Japan but Usyk’s wins lately have not gone unnoticed to him.
Many thought Oleksandr Usyk the undisputed heavyweight champion was the fighter of the year in boxing for 2024.
Per Ring Magazine on X Inoue said:
“Usyk is a great fighter, no question… We will obviously never fight since we are so far apart in weight, so I don’t really focus on him as much as I would other fighters in and near my division. But yes, for the year he had, he deserves Fighter of the Year.”
Most across the board appear to have given the nod to Usyk winning fighter of the year this year.
Inoue will look to go after that award this year himself too of course, starting with this Friday.
Expect Inoue to bring all guns blazing in a hell of shootout this coming Friday.
