Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis’ next opponent Lamont Roach knows Davis for a long time in boxing, more than most realize.
The two fight on March 1st in a huge fight now at the highest level of the sport.
But speaking to Fight Hype Peterson reveals they go way back:
“We’re cool. Like you said, we grew up in boxing together. He rose to the top, and I did the same in my own way. Now here we are, meeting again on the biggest stage, getting paid to entertain the world. It’s a testament to who we are as people and as boxers.”
He added:
“The last time we sparred, we were just kids—14 or 15 years old. That was so long ago. We’ve both matured, developed, and gotten much better since then. This fight is a completely different scenario.”
Although Roach might not be known to those outside of boxing he represents a legit challenge if Davis is not training hard.
