Joseph Parker the former WBO heavyweight champion is back next month and fights for a heavyweight title once more.
Some may have written him off previously but he is a true competitor.
He takes on IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois February 22nd next month in Saudi Arabia in one of the best cards ever put together in boxing history, quite literally.
Speaking to Talk Sport ahead of the fight Parker said:
“I wouldn’t say he’s underestimating me. Big fights are always being planned, but Dubois and his team know they have to focus on the fight in front of them first. He’s gained confidence from his performances, particularly with his knockouts. His belief in himself is stronger than ever.”
It is an even fight on the face of it.
Some give Dubois the edge after such a brutal knockout win of Anthony Joshua to win the title last year, and they’re probably right.
With that being said, you can’t write off Parker either.
First heavyweight title fight of the year — roll on.
