Light-heavyweight monster David Benavidez went 30-0 tonight in a fight for the ages, a true war.
Before the contest Benavidez said he will not go to 168 lbs. to fight Canelo so likely the bout, if it happens in the future, will need to be a catchweight between super-middleweight and light-heavyweight to have balance for both boxers.
Speaking post-fight tonight he said:
“I don’t know (what is happening with the Canelo fight). I know as much about that fight you guys, you know as much as me.”
He added:
“I would love to fight Canelo. It would be a massive, massive fight but Canelo says that he has other things. He says that I am being too mean in the way I approach him, I guess he doesn’t want to fight monsters and I guess I got to work on my attitude (laughs).”
