David Benavidez shoots straight from the hip in speech, straight shooter and always brutally honest.
He calls fights how he sees them, before and after, kudos to him on this.
Speaking after the fight ‘The Monster’ Benavidez said:
“I felt very good (in there). I knew it was going to be a hard fight that’s why I trained hard.”
He added:
“It was a good fight but I think I showed what level I am on. I don’t know what per cent (punch per centage that I landed) but it was against a great fighter. 41? (per cent). Good, that showed what level I am on.”
He continued:
“I’m just going to keep calling out the best fighters and fighting them in big arenas, this is what I am made for.”
Certainly at the highest level of boxing Inoue and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis are monsters in the sport, but for pure blood, guts and heart Benavidez is maybe the top of the list in this aspect.
Heck of a fighter and now in the top ten pound for pound list for most, surely enough.
