Claressa Shields, at 29 only, became the undisputed women’s heavyweight champion of the world in a sell out arena too.
She did so by beating Danielle Perkins, who was previously unbeaten and towered over Shields, and had a strength advantage, by unanimous decision last weekend in Michigan.
Shields batted back some critics of her opponent on X by saying:
“Talking about Daniel is 42, that 42 year old woman a kick yall ass!!! No cap ! I can’t control someone’s age! But check other women wiki! It’s not many young girls in the game! Hell next month GWOAT TURN 30!”
It will be interesting to see who Shields fights next.
Hopefully they can get a big fight for her.
Shields recently became a movie star in America with smash hit ‘The Fire Inside’ — due to be released in Europe shortly this month.
