It is all happening in live time in big time boxing at the moment as Canelo Alvarez has given Jake Paul the boot.
It appeared Paul had secured Netflix for a Canelo fight, but the ultimate decision was in boxing’s main man, Canelo Alvarez’s hands.
Per Mike Coppinger of ESPN on X — Canelo has told Paul to hit the road and signed a four-fight deal with Turki Alalshikh leaving the Terence Crawford fight open still:
“In a stunning, 11th-hour development with the Jake Paul fight at the 1-yard line, Canelo Alvarez has instead closed a four-fight deal with Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season to salvage the Terence Crawford mega fight in September.”
“Fight 2 will be against Terence Crawford on Sept. 13 in Las Vegas. Fight 3 is planned for February 2026, sources said, with three names on the table: Dmitry Bivol rematch, Hamzah Sheeraz and Chris Eubank Jr. Fight 4 planned for October 2026.”
At least that gives some closure on the Canelo vs Paul saga, at least for now.
Great to see boxing’s biggest star is going to be so active as well.
