For some time boxing fans have wanted a Gervonta Davis vs Vasyl Lomachenko fight.
If it happens, it will show a heck of a lot of ability, skill, speed and power between what many believe to be up there as two of the top ten best pound for pound boxers on Earth.
Davis for his part per Ring Magazine on X said of the fight:
“Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis has stated that he doesn’t believe Vasiliy Lomachenko was “scared” to fight him.”
Good for him to say that.
Obviously, none of these fighters are scared to fight one another.
The price has to be right and a lot of dough, many tens of clean millions after expenses each and after cuts to their teams — at the least — to motivate these best fighters in the world to get out of the bed to actually train in the morning — otherwise forget about this fight happening. The offer will be nothing then from boxers like the above.
That’s the truth and the reality of it at the end of the day.
Davis and Lomachenko are prize fighters. Prize fighting is different to low level world amateur championships or low level Olympic boxing or Olympic gold medals — all three are on very low levels compared to the best professional boxers in the world like Davis and Lomachenko — they represent the pinnacle of the sport — they are much higher and are on the highest level. Simple as that.
Lomachenko and Davis are two of the best of operators in professional boxing of the last maybe fifteen years.
Special boxers.
