The bones of a revolutionary deal for heavyweight boxing in Africa have been made but it is not quite done yet.
Recently promoter Ben Shalom confirmed that the Anthony Joshua vs Martin Bakole fight was done, the deal was, for the fight to happen in the Congo in Africa.
Speaking to The Stomping Ground podcast Shalom noted:
“There’s no way Eddie Hearn wants Martin Bakole against Anthony Joshua. There is absolutely no way, and to be fair, I think he’s the only one. I think Anthony Joshua wants it, and we know His Excellency would love that fight, and it’s an amazing fight and a historic fight, and it should happen, and hopefully, he can put the pieces together.”
It appears talks are ongoing still for Joshua to either fight Bakole in a massive fight in Africa or else another possibility.
Maybe he fights Deontay Wilder in what is still a huge fight in the UK and USA.
Both options are huge fights and events for boxing.
Let’s see what happens.
