Former world champion Joseph Parker is getting ready for the first heavyweight title fight of the year in boxing soon.
That’s next week on the Beterbiev vs Bivol card, where he challenges IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois as chief support of the event.
Speaking to The Ring Magazine on YouTube ahead of the big IBF heavyweight title fight with Daniel Dubois next week New Zealander Parker said:
“You know, I’ve been through a lot throughout my career and the journey that I’ve had so far. I’ve had a lot of ups and downs, and when you have the downs, it’s when you start questioning your training, questioning the team, and questioning things that are happening. I made some good changes, and I felt like when I started training with Andy Lee, looking after all the boxing, and George Lockhart (nutritionist) from America, who’s looked after all the nutrition, strength conditioning, and recovery, I feel like we are the best team now. We’ve been working together, the three of us, for the last year and a half. We’ve seen some great comebacks, really like you say, a resurgence. So I feel like it’s taken me 12 years, but I feel like I’ve found the right formula for what works for me.”
The UK’s Dubois won the IBF title last year brilliantly by knocking out Anthony Joshua in a highlight reel KO.
He won’t want to give up that title to Parker, what a fight ahead next week.
