Boxing legend Roy Jones goes to the UK soon to skipper a USA team of 10 vs UK team of 10.
In a stadium professional boxing event at Stamford Bridge soon in London no less.
Speaking ahead of that with the folks at Fight Hype he gave his take on a super fight confirmed in the sport this year, and possibly another one down the line — first on Canelo Alvarez vs Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford:
“Man, it’s a great fight for boxing. I know people don’t agree with it, but if Canelo fights one increment of the wrong fight, he’s going to lose. If he comes out and fights the right fight, it’s going to be a tough one. So right now, I think it could go either way, but it depends on what type of fight Canelo fights.”
He added on a possible Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson fight:
“It would be a great time for a fight against Tank Davis right now, so even before that. The boxing world wants to see the best fight the best, so right now it’s a great time for the Tank Davis fight. After that fight would be a great time for the Tank Davis fight; it doesn’t matter when; that’s always a great fight.”
It is all happening in boxing at the moment.
So never say never on the latter fight getting made for later in 2025 — it is possible.
It would be a true fight for the ages, too.
