Tyson Fury comes across as genuine in his retirement but his old rival gave his thoughts on the recent statement.
Fury lost to Usyk for a second time again in a razor close fight, last December, and shortly after said he was retiring.
Speaking to Sky Sports Usyk expressed his opinion on the matter:
“I don’t think about it. I think it’s not true (that he’s retiring). Tyson now, they relax. Uh, the rest, maybe Tyson will be back. Listen, uh, boxing, if you do this for a lot of time, 10, 15, 20, 25 years, boxing is like a drug. If you don’t go to training one time a day, you feel bad. For me, it’s, uh, it’s me. I train every day, but not, I don’t do my everyday boxing like CrossFit, running, training school. I do my boxing only when I’m in camp.”
We will have to see what happens with Fury.
Usyk is going nowhere anyway and plans to fight at least twice more at heavyweight.
