Turki Alalshikh the fight organizer this weekend has had to deal and contend with a lot in terms of late pull outs that have annoyed fans.
First Floyd Schofield pulling out due to illness on fight week against Shakur Stevenson, then IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois pulling out at the last minute before the Joseph Parker fight.
Alalshikh said on X which got a lot of engagement:
“The card of the century just got better!” Turki Alalshikh’s statement to The Ring regarding the stunning finalization of Joseph Parker vs. Martin Bakole on only two days’ notice, and nailing down Shakur Stevenson vs. Josh Padley on three days’ notice – watch both this Saturday as part of ‘The Last Crescendo.”
In fact, the Bakole vs Parker fight in many ways is a better fight clash of style wise, with the weight Bakole will be coming in at too, it will be heavy digs from heavyweights from bell one.
Boxing has shown an ability to professionalize and organize on a level this week never before seen — able to draft in late replacements of high calibre to not only keep a major show going but make it even better.
Welcome to the new age of professional boxing.
