Bivol like many great champions before him avenged a defeat tonight in a class match in boxing history.
The rematch between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev was even better than the first fight, a brilliant fight thaw saw Bivol win a razor close majority points decision.
Straight after the fight Bivol said to the Ring podcast:
“Oh, I don’t care (on what next). We’ll talk about it. A third fight? No problem. If there are any other plans for me, no problem. But I want to take a little rest to heal myself because I’ve had some injuries, and I need to recover. Over the last year, I’ve had a lot going on, to be honest. I’ve had four fights in the last 14 months, and that’s a lot.”
Surely Bivol has earned a rest now but if there is a fight to be made before the end of the year, surely it is the trilogy.
The thing will be bigger than ever and the sport, as well as the two boxers’ stars, has grown once again because of the fight tonight.
