The world is Dmitry Bivol’s oyster as undisputed light-heavyweight champion after avenging defeat to Artur Beterbiev tonight.
Speaking after the fight tonight Bivol’s Promoter Eddie Hearn told The Stomping Ground:
“Yeah, I mean, I don’t think—I think Canelo would be a huge underdog against Dmitry Bivol at 175, you know? Let’s be honest, the first fight against Canelo—I love Canelo—but it was very easy for Dmitry. I feel like he’s a much better fighter now than he was then. Canelo’s a great fighter too, though, and I don’t know. Honestly, you’re sitting pretty, aren’t you? You’ve got every belt in the division. Of course, the danger now is the mandatories will start coming, so we’ll have to see. That was one of the best decision reactions I’ve seen in the ring in a long time.”
Likely the trilogy will happen in Bivol vs Beterbiev next.
That is the right thing to do and the big thing to do, too, after an amazing scrap tonight the third fight is even bigger now.
