Dmitry Bivol got his revenge over rival Artur Beterbiev at the weekend just gone and deserved it.
To say the least, what boxers and fighters put themselves through mere mortals will never understand, or have the courage or guts to go through — hence why world champions are rare at the very top of society and in professional sportsmen.
Speaking to IFL after the win Bivol revealed:
“Of course, of course. And I didn’t sacrifice just my son’s birthday—I’ve sacrificed a lot before, a lot of important dates. But for the future, they’ll understand. I’m not alone in doing this in the world. A lot of people miss their sons’ birthdays or someone else’s, but it’s worth it, yeah. I wasn’t just chilling, you know—I was working. I’m sure they’ll understand. They know it. I was talking to them today, and they were watching the fight.”
Maximum respect on the above.
Beterbiev will sacrifice a lot again himself too when the third fight happens in this one.
