It would only take the boxing legend that is Gennady Golovkin to save boxing at the Olympics, wouldn’t it.
Some man for one man, if there was a job for him to do, heck, he has pulled it off for amateur boxing now.
Per Ring Magazine on X ‘GGG’ and the following have done good:
“The International Olympic Committee has ‘provisionally recognized’ World Boxing as the governing body to oversee boxing competition at LA 2028. Gennady Golovkin, who serves as chairman of the World Boxing Olympic Commission has stated this decision brings them closer to their goal of “preserving boxing at the Olympic Games.”
Very good, rather.
So it looks like boxing won’t be chopped from the Olympics after all.

Golovkin is one of the great middleweight world champions in history.
His stewardship in the administration side of the sport above, at amateur level, is welcome — boxing and organizers would surely agree on that.
