Ahead of tonight’s fight in New York Gervonta Davis has had no problem speaking about old adviser Floyd Mayweather.
The two moved on and moved forward from one another, ‘Tank’ cares little for Mayweather it appears and has been frank on him.
Speaking at a presser before the fight ‘Tank’ said Mayweather was surprised to see Davis do as well as he has done on his own without him:
“He didn’t know how well I could handle the situation. He just threw me out there. Why? I think he was hurt—not physically hurt, just finished. First of all, Floyd never wants to see another fighter do better than him. How in the world would you say, ‘Turn this into your fight and beat his a**’? That doesn’t make any sense. That’s crazy. He never wants to see anyone surpass him.”
Ultimately Davis moved forward and will again tonight.
That is what he does — he knocks people out. He’s the second biggest star in boxing behind Canelo for a reason.
