The Gervonta Davis taking a knee moment in round 9 against Lamont Roach continues to cause some discussion this week.
Last Saturday saw a majority draw scored in the contest after twelve rounds.
Following the fight Davis pointed to the rules of boxing stating he did nothing wrong.
Turki Alalshikh said on X of the round nine moment:
“NO KNOCKDOWN (man shrugging shoulders emoji).”
He posted the above photo (hat tip) of the referee too in the post on X as well.
Ultimately it looks like a rematch is being pursued for the fight immediately.
It is a huge fight now in the rematch given the controversy of the first fight last weekend.
That’s what boxing does sometimes, it creates stars and big fights out of nowhere, it always has and always will.
