Keith Thurman comes across as a bit of mind games merchant when he’s on form in big time boxing.
His psycho analysis of his younger opponent Brock Jarvis continues ahead of their big fight in Australia this week on Wed:
“Well, I saw a little snippet where Fenech was very respectful. He said he’s got love for Brock and that ultimately, he’s a good guy. I’ve heard that Brock can be a good kid, but depending on his surroundings, his team, and some of his family, there’s a persona that makes him act a certain way. That’s life sometimes, you know? You go over here and act one way, then go over there and act another way, depending on the people you’re around. But at the end of the day, this is boxing. He’s going to have to show me what he really brings to the ring. I’m going to show my world-class skills. He’s going to be in the ring with a two-time world champion, something he’s never experienced before. The closest thing he ever came to that was his coach. And as for him calling me an “old man,” his trainer left him because he didn’t want to listen. He was being stubborn and hard-headed. So obviously, he must have a tremendous game plan on his own. He must know exactly what to do and be ready to take over the whole world of boxing come 2025. If any of that’s true, he’s got one opportunity to prove it, and it comes Wednesday night.”
Thurman is bringing the pre-fight heat in the Dr. Phil, Conor McGregor type mind games and psychology into the fight before hand.
Whether or not it effects Jarvis remains to be seen, who will be younger, more active and on home soil too at the end of the day.
Thurman has had to travel a long way to compound his ring rust with jet lag but alas — he looks to have done so professionally so likely jet lag won’t be a factor.
Thurman comes across as some good at resending and re-projecting people’s own issues, shortcoming and insecurities back into them, impervious to psycho analysis is Keith Thurman without doubt, or without the use of big words — a bit of an old school G is ‘One Time’.
Always instigating, always looking for an edge but at the same time good balance and done so in good jest, a class act, Thurman.
A classic fighter really Thurman — everyone’s crazy out of the 8 billion humans on Earth but Thurman and ilk of his cloth in a good way, though.
No one is going to get inside the head of someone like Thurman, no way.
Proper professional fighters at the top level of prize fighting would absolutely flatten any doctor or psychiatrist in mental warfare in seconds, stuff is different at that level, professional fighting is the highest level of warfare, that’s why world champion boxers and UFC fighters are special members of society, no one is mentally stronger outside of them or can compete with them or than maybe some special services private professional hitmen, some select government military units and some select special services government personnel in the East and West.
Good veteran Thurman and people writing him off this week might be a little unwise to do so.
He is impenetrable to mind games and is looking to bring serious pain this week to Brock Jarvis — whom will oblige him with some back as well.
Good scrap in store.
