Nothing is ever really truly impossible in the sport of boxing after this as the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury is not quite dead yet.
Where there’s a will there’s a way or in Joshua’s promoter Hearn’s case where there is a dollar or pound note there is a way.
Of course if the fight had to be staged on the moon and the money was there you best believe Hearn would be speaking to Elon Musk or someone now to fire up a rocket ship to space to get the fighters, their teams, a doctor, a ref and a few fans up to the moon to watch the scrap.
Per Boxing Kingdom on X originally via Boxing Social Hearn is claiming he is confident we will now see Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury this year.
Where the heck did that come from, likely Fury had a think to himself and wanted back in the fight game after a quick rest after the last Usyk fight — he’s dead right too if that is the case.
Fury was retired recently but credit to Hearn he called it, he thought he was angling to get a bigger deal for the Joshua fight and likely he’s succeeded in that — surely 50/50 is about bang on correct for something like this.
Never say never in boxing and the fight is still big in Europe and around the world in places too.
The clash of personality sells well in this as well as the grudge history as the two will want to batter one another quickly enough if this goes through.
As always, everything is subject to terms though and let’s hope people can be sensible and get this thing over the line.
