Gennady Golovkin has given his reaction to the big news for boxing as a sport at the 2028 Olympics in LA.
After much consideration and deliberation, some talking was done.
Boxing was put forward for discussion to be included at the 2028 Olympics and then was passed in overwhelming numbers, officially rightfully reinstated as a sport after being on the ropes with the Olympics after a no good 2028 games in France.
Boxing legend Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin said of the news on Instagram:
“The fight is won — Boxing stays Olympic! Thank you to everyone who made this happen. LA 2028, here we come!”
Not many realize that boxing will be run by World Boxing at the next Olympics, of which now Golovkin is now chairman of.
Not a bad person and a former fighter, not only a former fighter, one of the best middleweight champions in history, leading boxing at the next Olympic games.
More good news and commercial votes of confidence continue to come for the sport at all levels, internationally.
This simply being the latest.
