Peter Fury Reacts To George Foreman Death

Respected trainer and analyst from the UK Peter Fury gives his thoughts on the passing of a literal part of the sport of boxing, George Foreman.

The respect for Foreman is clearly immense and continues this week following his passing at the weekend.

Speaking to Boxing King — Fury said:

“I never met him. I remember watching as a very young boy, listening to it on the radio when he fought Muhammad Ali, I think in ’72 or ’73. I’ve got very good memories of George Foreman—I grew up with him, really. He’s definitely an icon in the sport, a great human being, and a legend of boxing who’ll never be forgotten. This man’s carved out a place in history for what he did in boxing and outside the ring as well.”

He went on to say:

“I liked looking at his Instagram and his last few videos—he was quoting verses from the Bible. He was a preacher, too, if you didn’t know. A proper man of God,” Peter continued. “People of God aren’t afraid of dying. We believe in the afterlife, and that’s surely where he is now. What a great man and legacy for what he achieved. He’s one of the great inspirations to look up to.”

Well said.

There’s definitely a lot of people in boxing, America and society in many places at the moment hurting badly at the moment due to the extremely painful loss of Foreman.

That came as a shock to most. He had gone a bit quiet on social media in recent times some had noticed.

His loved ones have asked for privacy at this time but it is understood he was surrounded by loved ones when he passed.

It will take a while for some to process the grief of Foreman’s passing and that’s okay but Foreman was one of life’s great thrivers who always kept moving on in life and kept moving forward.

Which is what life is all about and the meaning of life. That’s what he’d surely want people to do at this time.

No amount of trauma or grief in life ever stopped George Foreman.

He was a fighter in every aspect a man could possibly be a fighter in the truest sense of the word.

That’s why he was always successful in all aspects of life.

Rest easy big fella up there in heaven.
