Some agitated words from boxing star Canelo Alvarez have come towards light-heavyweight assassin David Benavidez.
Benavidez has been bulldozing his way through everything and everyone in recent years — no Canelo fight yet — although boxing fans would love to see the fight.
Speaking to Fight Hype Alvarez said:
“You know I don’t really know how to answer this question. But I think it’s the way he talks. He thinks he’s Superman. He’s very disrespectful. Not just to me but to everybody. And he hasn’t accomplished anything.”
Alvarez added:
“He’s not even a champion and he’s not even in my weight class right now. There are a lot of things that don’t make sense. Plus at this point in my career I can do whatever I want.”
With respect to Canelo — David Benavidez is now WBC interim light-heavyweight champion — okay not full champion yet.
But likely will be soon and he’s 30-0-24 KO too — still undefeated.
Not only that fans in America and Mexico are flocking to him after his big win over Cuban David Morrell recently.
Canelo knows how tough Cubans are and surely knows Benavidez became big right across Latin America recently too with the big win over Cuban David Morrell.
Benavidez is also linked to a fight with Dmitry Bivol as well — the undisputed champion at 175 lbs.
