Canelo Alvarez lost some years ago to Floyd Mayweather but he came back stronger than ever. He lets fighters in on something below.
Alvarez is a seasoned veteran in the boxing ring and in life now and is maybe still getting better.
Likely he is, that is the type of fighter he is. Always looking for that next edge to take things to the next level.
Speaking to Fight Hype Alvarez said of fights he lost before:
“I think things happen because they need to happen that way. And the thing is how you grab that experience and put it to work, right? Because some fighters when they lose or something, they go down. I think the most important thing is what you learn from everything.”
He added:
“It’s not a loss. It’s a lesson for your life. For your career. For everything. No, I’m not doing anything different. I did what I did because I felt it was the correct thing. I learned, and that’s it.”
Good stuff from Alvarez.
Surely invaluable advise not only to professional fighters but to anyone.
Alvarez is set to take on William Scull next up in May in a huge fight that if he wins sets up the Terence Crawford super fight in September.
Many boxing fans still remain hopeful that he can fight David Benavidez next year — in what will be a huge fight in Latin America and the US.
