It is widely understood now that living legend and only 30 Claressa Shields is the best female boxer ever but Serrano is a step further.
Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano that is — whom faces Katie Taylor for a third time later this summer live on the world’s biggest streaming platform Netflix.
As Jake Paul’s MVP Promotions brings Netflix to boxing in a bigger way in 2025 through women’s boxing (Serrano included) and signing prospects in men’s pro boxing, some things must be pushed for Serrano.
As if Paul and MVP can get Claressa Shields somehow onto Netflix later this year too — then you really have something then.
That will give MVP the ability to go much further then and likely get big world title men’s fights on Netflix.
But back to Amanda Serrano.
She isn’t just a former world boxing champion like Shields, who by the way, attempted mixed martial arts but it didn’t quite work out for.
Serrano on the other hand has won world titles in an incredible seven different weight divisions in boxing alone, this is not known enough to old or new boxing fans.
That’s almost the equivalent of the Manny Pacquiao of men’s boxing (who won titles in eight divisions) to a similar equivalent in women’s boxing.
Serrano has also trained and fought in more combat sports than any women’s boxing champion in history (even more than Shields) as follows.
MMA Record and Titles
- She won her first MMA fight on October 13th 2018.
- Serrano defeated Valentina García by standing guillotine choke.
- She signed with the PFL in 2023.
- Serrano fought to a majority draw against Corina Herrera.
Kickboxing and Jiu-Jitsu
– Serrano has trained in kickboxing.
- She won gold at a Grappling Industries No-Gi jiu-jitsu event.
- Serrano defeated Erin Finkeldey in a jiu-jitsu bout in 2019.
- She has a 5-0 record in No-Gi jiu-jitsu tournaments.
Other Combat Sports
– Serrano trained for professional wrestling in 2023.
Let thank all that sink in.
Serrano is a total fighter through and through.
As far as women’s fighters go at least.
All of the above and the fact she is the only seven-weight world women’s champion in history.
So for us that makes her the greatest all-round girl fighter ever. Surely.
Shield’s still being the best women’s boxing though.
Alas, Netflix are smart people.
They know the power of documentaries and story-telling.
A big documentary on Amanda Serrano’s life and fight career is there for the taking.
In terms of churning out a smash hit for someone to put onto Netflix.
Either ahead of her third fight with Katie Taylor or after that.
The trilogy and Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor next fight in 2025 date is July 11th live on Netflix.
