The main man in boxing, heavyweight boxing and greatest Ukrainian fighter that ever lived dropped some bombshell news.
Lately people like leading boxing promoter Eddie Hearn were almost suggesting Oleksandr Usyk could retire now and it would be the perfect time to do so.
Not the case however as Boxing Kingdom on X via Arab News reports:
“Oleksandr Usyk has decided to extend his professional boxing career. Usyk stated that boxing allows him to represent Ukraine on the global stage and his fight purses provide support for his foundation & the country. [@arabnews]”
That most certainly is huge news for the entire sport and the heavyweight division.
Usyk is only getting better and improving right now at the moment up at heavyweight.
He literally only beat Tyson Fury twice, why would he retire now.
Great news for boxing and the sport.
The fact he is deciding to extend his career will have surprised some in boxing and outside of it today.
Not Usyk or his team though.
The present right now and immediate future for heavyweight boxing and boxing is very bright.
