The Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul fight recently is something both AJ and his promoter would not rule out.
Now a respected boxing trainer in the sport is doing the same.
Speaking to Talk Sport today Don Charles said:
“The world we’re living in today has changed as we know it. So many times, when such things are mentioned. Initially everyone says, “Surely that’s not going to happen,” and before you know it. It’s happening. So nothing really surprises me in the world of sport we’re living in today. In recent times, a lot of names have come up.”
He went on to say:
“For instance when Ngannou was first mentioned to fight Tyson Fury, people ridiculed it. Then we all tuned in. Including me. We tuned in to watch it. Then they said AJ was going to fight him. Again it was ridiculed initially but we all tuned in and watched it. So who’s to say this won’t materialize? I wouldn’t be surprised if it does.”
Don Charles now trains IBF heavyweight champion of the world Daniel Dubois.
Whom is expected to take on Charles’ old charge Chisora — in his 50th and final fight.
Something Charles said earlier today he hopes doesn’t happens.
Very understandable for many reasons but at the end of the day its a big one for Chisora to end his career on.
Athletes in today’s times fight on much longer because of nutrition and sports science.
