Oscar De La Hoya and Dana White will soon be in the boxing business together and are not too fond of one another.
Both as a promoters. White and De La Hoya and Bob Arum of Top Rank have not gotten along over the years it is reasonable to say.
De La Hoya this week on his clap back segment, which was a day later than usual, went off completely on White and TKO:
“Speaking of scumbags everyone has been asking for my opinion on Dana White attempting to enter the boxing space again. After collecting as much information as possible. I’m ready to answer. Here’s the truth, you can’t run a boxing organization when you don’t have any fighters. Right now TKO and Dana have zero fighters.”
He later added:
“What else do we know? TKO’s supposed fighter pay and salaries were leaked a few weeks ago. If these numbers are real Dana is going to face several problems. First no fighter is going to fight for these pennies. The majority of their prospects will fight one or two times a year and be forced to survive on minimum pay while facing tough fights. Dana said the best must fight the best. so their careers will be short.”
He went on:
“Second no pay-per-view fighter will fight for $750,000. Are the Canelos and Ryans (Garcia) of this world going to agree to this kind of pay cut? No. Most importantly third if these numbers are real UFC fighters will be furious. The TKO boxers would be getting paid much more than they are. UFC fighters are already disgusted with how little they get paid for putting their lives on the line.”
That’s only some of the choice language and words Oscar De La Hoya had for Dana White and TKO this week.
Obviously White will have his own reply at some point.
TKO Boxing has the potential to be huge for boxing no matter what De La Hoya, Eddie Hearn or anyone else claims.
Good to see Dan Rafael mentioning the big potential of TKO for boxing too recently.
Let’s see what happens.
