Tim Tszyu returns to action tomorrow in Australia in a big fight on Amazon Prime against Joey Spencer.
Former world champion Shawn Porter has been spending a lot of time in Australia recently calling fights.
Speaking to the Punch Podcast Porter said of the big fight in Australia tomorrow:
“Yeah you know based on where Tim was at I think it’s very important for Tim to make a statement tomorrow night. If he makes that statement not only can you erase those two losses with a win but it doesn’t completely go away. It’s still there.”
He went on:
“I think a big explosive win for Tim and everybody instantly gives him credit and says, “Okay, he’s back to being his old self. He didn’t lose anything,” you know. Things of that nature. So that’s important for Tim. He has to make a statement tomorrow and that statement has to be “I’m who I am. I’m here. I’m who I used to be.”
All solid points from Porter.
Although he got the last call in Australia badly wrong when he essentially went against his fellow countryman Keith Thurman.
That said, this is totally different.
Tszyu is the big favorite tomorrow.
Important to note though that Australian boxers have not had a good time on home soil recently between Brock Jarvis and Skye Nicolson.
George Kambosos got the win but wasn’t his best either.
Do Australians fight better on the road outside of Australia on that note?
Maybe there is something in that.
Roll on the big one down under tomorrow.
Here’s the fight time in the big cities around the world depending where you are — approximately — check the broadcaster again tomorrow.
