The country of Mexico has broke the Guinness World Record for the biggest boxing class ever recorded in the sport’s history.
It brought together an entire country, people, government, the Mexico President and of course help from heavyweights in boxing such as the WBC, Chavez senior, Roberto Duran, Oscar De La Hoya and Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz.
Events that saw thousands attend across the country promoting boxing and wellness in the nation.
The public boxing class took place across 32 states within Mexico.
Once again, more commercial and official State votes of confidence on the sport of boxing.
Well done to the Mexicans on this. This was very good. They have gone up in the planet’s estimation once more.
Moreover, boxing and Alvarez were featured here on Sports Illustrated Mexico recently even.
Crucially, more big time boxing events selling out stadiums with the likes of Canelo Alvarez boxing in Mexico will take them to the next level.
Very possible and achievable.
Imagine a Canelo Alvarez vs David Benavidez fight in 2026 Estadio Azteca.
Think about that.
It would actually take boxing in Latin America to never before seen levels.
Alas, even a Canelo Alvarez stadium fight against any strong opponent would.
