Chris Eubank Jr has come a long way in his boxing career and spoke on something that some boxers use to generate more money.
That’s be the bad guy, the villain, the heel. Mayweather started it and cashed in on a shed load of money in doing so.
Eubank told MMA leading pundit Ariel Helwani on his podcast:
“The first time I got booed into an arena was against Billy Joe Saunders 11 years ago and it was a dark harrowing experience. It’s happened every single fight ever since. It takes a lot of getting used to. Conor Benn is not there yet. He’s never had that.”
He added:
“So it’s going to be very interesting to see how it affects who he is in that ring on the night. I think you’re in for a surprise on the night because I think you are going to get cheered. I think people view you as the anti-hero in a way. You’re anti-establishment.”
Eubank Jr takes on Conor Benn this month on April 26th.
It is reasonable to assume that Eubank Jr will start as a big favorite and if anyone will be booed it will be him.
Not Benn — as the underdog. A fight that has come with controversy in the build-up it must be said.
Good fight in store this month.
