Lithuania’s Stanionis had to be pulled out by his team in round six in a career best win for Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis last night. Malignaggi reacts below.
A former world champion and respected pundit Malignaggi is always brutally honest.
Speaking to Fight Hype after the fight — Malignaggi said:
It was great to see ‘Short Dog’ get a solid win in the main event. He had a crafty opponent and I was impressed with Jaron Ennis from what I saw on Chris’s phone. Man, very impressive. With a Philadelphia fighter like Ennis sometimes you forget how well he can box.”
He said further:
“Tonight he reminded us why he’s so good. He got a stoppage without just brawling he outclassed Stanionis by being a really smart boxer which I didn’t expect to see in that way. Ennis has faced a lot of criticism overall but this is his biggest win yet.”
Well said on all counts by Malignaggi.
A tremendous talent is Ennis.
The immediate present and near future is very bright for him.
