Boxing Put Forward As A Sport To Be Included In 2028 LA Olympics

Boxing Put Forward As A Sport To Be Included In 2028 Olympics

After some deliberation recently it appears boxing might make it to the Olympics again after all.

It was on the chopping block recently after a very poor overall Olympics in France last year.

Thankfully post-France the planet has moved on from that monstrosity of a games, and earlier today the IOC on X said:

“IOC Executive Board puts boxing forward to the IOC Session for inclusion at @LA28. IOC President Thomas Bach announces proposal at press briefing.”

Good news for amateur boxing and for boxing overall of course.

It would be a pity of boxing were to be omitted from the next Olympics.

How or who is running it in the Olympics remains to be seen exactly just yet.
