Kell Brook and Errol Spence Jr have upped the ante with their pre-fight verbal exchanges as the fight now starts to get close.

The pair are not known for their trash talk, typically.

Most times Kell Brook and Errol Spence Jr are respectful of their opponents and tend to do their talking with their considerable fists in the ring.

But as their May 27th showdown now edges closer, the old UK vs USA boxing rivalry is really starting to come to the surface again with Brook labelling Spence as a ‘yank’ in the pre-fight build-up.

Perhaps more than the international boxing rivalry however that’s starting to manifest too – is the unbelivably competitive one between two elite level welterweight fighters of today’s times.

Brook has proven himself at the weight limit in the past and has experience in taking out hotly tipped American fighters.

Most notably against Shawn Porter when Brook originally won the IBF title.

Spence Jr is a formidable an adversary as any in the modern 147lbs landscape however. A fighter being touted as the next great American boxing pound for pound star across the States.

Former pound for pound number one Floyd Mayweather in the past has been highly impressed with what Spence Jr has produced in sparring sessions with him, which says a lot in itself outside of Spence’s stellar 21-0-18KO career as a pro thus far.
